Sweet Honey 12/28/07: Colours, Sweet Stuff, and Being Bitten

Colour Lovers

This is the coolest website for people who are designers, into color schemes, want to decorate their own spaces, seamstresses, fashion designers...and anyone else who might be interested in producing thier own colors, palettes, and patterns. The site is full of interesting people who have made simply breathtaking color palettes, so brilliant that you can see the colors come alive in front of your eyes.
This site is truly a playground for the artistic and those who believe in the power of color. Come on in and play!

The Sweet Alhambra by Van Cleef and Arpels

The Alhambra collection is a vintage collection by VCA, which traditionally featured clovers in mother of pearl, tigers eye, and onyx. These bracelets have been revived in the new collection, which include a variety of new takes, including the popular Lucky Alhambra, featuring the multi colored charm bracelet with the turquoise butterfly, the heart, and the clovers that has almost risen to iconic status in the current fashion scene. It is is Sweet Alhambra collection, however, that is most affordable and most simple, with its simple charm in a variety of shapes and colors. At an affordable, but still quite expensive $700...it is something you can pass down to generations to come, and get daily use out of in the meantime.
This baby is DEFINITELY on my wishlist!

Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker

I am a BIG fan of stores that carry stylish, but practical and affordable clothing. Old Navy, New York and Company, Urban Outfitters, Newport News, Marshalls, Loehmanns, and LaRedoute are favorites of mine. When I see a really great secondary line by a typically high end designer, I try to find a piece or two, that is representative of my style and the designers overall flair, but that is often hard, as the mass produced items are often grabbed up as soon as they hit the stores of places like Target and the Gap. However, with uber fashionista SJP having her clothing at Steve & Barry's, and carrying a full line of yearlong seasonal pieces, there is usually a nice amount to select from in the Bitten collection.
This season, I am most impressed with the wide leg pants with suspenders, the tunic turtleneck sweater, and the dark wash jeans for an amaxing $14.95! There is even a stylish funnel neck peacoat in the bunch...HOW GRAND. Check it out at Bitten by SJP . After all Fashion is not luxurty it is a right!
