Sweet Honey: Calling all Designers

Well, the time has come.
On Sunday, the new line Jovovich-Hawk for Target will show up on the shelves, and women will be flocking in the hundreds to raid the stores.
Jovovich-Hawk, known for its romantic, frilly, and very graceful clothes is not typcially a discount brand. But as everyone MUST know by now, Target is bringing designers into its midst to design lower-priced lines inspired their expensive counterparts.
These looks are great. And just between me and you, the dresses and the bag must be MINE!

Sweet Honey: Clikety Clackety Clutch

One thing about clutches, while they are highly stylish, they are not very practical. If you are going dancing or even out to a swanky affair, having to carry a bag in your hand the ENTIRE time, is pretty nerve racking. Even if you can perch it under your arm, even that might not be the best idea if you are dancing and sweating the night away with your brand new Lauren Merkin in tow. Soooo...we need something a bit more practical for those engagements where having two free hands would be much better.
Moe Bags has designed the C.L.I.C.K. bag.
Designed to be strapped around the wrist, this ingenious design will surely make your evenings out more enjoyable, and still as stylish. In tons of different colors, fabrics, and finishes...you will certainly find something you love and want to carry. Say hello to the new clutch!

Home Sweet Home: More Honey

I am home obsessed right now, so forgive me.
However, I love color...and done right, it can add so much to your home. It can make a room bigger, add drama, give off peace, allow you to relax, separate a space...so much.
However, this type of color is simply for drama, for effect...
These melamine plates by French Bull are sold online at at stores near you, and come in a WIDE array of styles. Of course, I am sharing my fave with you.

Sweet Honey: Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch

Anyone who knows me knows I am in love with Marc Jacobs...
If I could spawn little handbags, Marc Jacobs would be my baby's daddy!!!

Anyway...
His new Spring 2008 collection has hit the online stores, and my absolute fave is the Posh Dot

I have seen this gorgeous bag in person ladies...and the picture does it NO justice. The leather is the best you will ever find. The style is drop dead...and let me tell you, it is magic!
At $498 it is not as expensive as many of the "it" bags, but it still packs a punch, but with such style to take you from work to after work...and colors like cream, navy, black, and YELLOW...who could EVER resist!

Sweet Honey: Home is where the Heart Is!

My husband and I have been doing some house hunting lately...and it has been something of a chore and also exciting...a very interesting dichotomy indeed.

For me, the thought of decorating a WHOLE space is just so promising and such a way to flex my creative muscle...so that, in itself, is pure joy for me.

In our hunt, we have come across some real showstoppers and some shacks. The furniture we have picked out ensures that the inside will be grand and great. Now, we just hope we can find something as appeasing from curbside.

Here are some of our picks:

West Elm Elliott Sofa $999.00

West Elm Wire Pendant Lamp $249.00

West Elm Acorn Bed Frame $249.00

Try West Elm for some of your home decor needs...the picks are great, modern, and stylish!!!

Sweet Honey: The Eyes Have It

I wear glasses and contact lenses.
I love contacts, but for my job, I need UV and anti-reflective glasses to protect
my eyes from daily use of the computer.

I really love fashion forward designs, but as I am preparing to undergo Lasix in about a year, I don't want to spend tons on money on glasses.

My mom was out an about one day and spotted a young lady in a gorgeous pair of spectacles that were sharp and stylish. When she asked the woman where she got her glasses, she replied that she bought them online for $19 dollars.

19 Dollars

My mother, a discount hound like myself, got to writing down the website, which was

Zenni Optical .

Zenni Optical is an online wholesaler for prescription glasses that range from $8 and not far beyond $19. The glasses are gorgeous and they come in a range of styles. All of the listing have measurements, so you can check them versus the ones you already own, in case your face shape dictates that you don't need glasses that extend beyond your face or past your eyebrow.

I am so impressed, on my next day off I am heading to the eye doctor to get my prescription (which is your legal right) and then logging on to Zenni to order these:

I just LOVE a bargain!

Sweet Honey: Sweets for your Sweetie

While getting your hubby a gift for Valentine's Day might not be as easy...he goes from loving golf, to loving his Wii, to loving The Wire...your little boy or girl will be much easier to please.
A gift of sweets to your little sweetie always hits the spot, and let's your little one know how much you love them on the special day of love.
Try these...

...and if you don't want to bake them, there are usually TONS of cupcake shops and bakeries around. Go to :

for cupcake bakeries all over the US and reviews!

**And by the way, cupcakes are not only sweet and delish, they are usually half the calories of a slice of cake, and these days you can find TONS of ways to make low fat varieties that still taste like heaven, or shop around for VEGAN cupcakes.
SWEEEEEEEEET!

Sweet Honey: I'mmmmmmmmmm Back!

The Chloe Paddington...one of my favorite bags...has been resurrected in this fantastic Dome bag in black or white.

One thing about the Paddington is its soft, buttery leather...and I am sure this will not disappoint on that front. It has a lucite padlock, which makes it chic and of the moment...and special for spring (especially in white)!

Halston, once the cornerstone of fierce and fabulous fashion, is back!
With new jersey fabrics and classic cuts the brand is known for, Marco Zanini, once a head designer for Versace, has brought back the posh and decadence to the brand. Hey, Liza Minnelli was front and center at his show...what does that tell you?

************************************************************************************

Long sundresses are great...so great, they are making their way back into the style scene after a few years of ultra short, ultra boxy shifts. These sexy styles are a more perfect fit for a variety of body types, they tend to show off a woman's best features...her shoulders, her neck, and her back...and they are simple and stylish. Add sandals, add bag, add bangle...and let's go!

Sweet Honey: Travel in Style

I am planning to go to LA this summer for my hubby's 30th birthday, and I want some fabulous travel gear.
Low and behold...now it is PREORDER time for Stella McCartney for Le Sportsac...and what great style you are in for!
Here are my favorites, the Posh Print Bowler Bag, the Pop Print Carry on Roller and the Kid's Roller.

Since I have not graduated to the ultimate in luxury, LV travel gear, yet, this is a perfect middle of the road style, plus, it will be easy to identify your bag with the great prints.

So if you are taking a trip soon, and you or your stylish kids need some great
bags to stash your loot in...check out Le Sportsac

If you need something more affordable still, Le Sportsac has plenty of options, check these out:

Weekender $88.00

Large Weekender $98.00

Sweet Honey: A Side Order of Shoes

Every QueenBee isn't into sneakers...but this one is!
From Original Adidas Shelltoes and Forums to Nike Dunks and Puma GVs...I love a pair of old school kicks to rock on the weekend.
After a tough week of working, I want out of the work week wear and I need some good sweats, a pair of jeans, some sweaters or flowy tops, bermudas, sandals...and sneakers.
And they have to be original and unique, nothing run of mill.
So when I discovered Puma Mongolian Shoe BBQ (Yes,like Mongolian BBQ, but only for shoes, and the graphics to make the shoes are cool!)...I flipped. Similar to Nike ID, but more for the hip hop inspired 80s crowd or the ultra chic girl who must rock something fresh, fabulous, and custom...if she is gonna even consider rocking it at all...these shoes are just sweet enuf for a Queen Bee.
I cannot show you the shoes I made because they are protected images, but they are styled like these two shoes:

The Clyde, a 1968 original

RS 100 introducted in 1986

Since I am on a yellow and teal kick for spring/summer 08 I made a gray and yellow pair and a teal and gold pair both in the Clyde style...and both were a side order of MMMM MMMM Good!

Go to Puma and click on Mongolian BBQ to make your shoes!
